Hope |
This piece was done in August of 2002. It shows a warrior maid, weary from battle, pausing in front of arched windows while a tiny songbird flies to her finger. Behind her, a nebula in all its glory shines in the night sky.
I did it because I'm weary of all the war and warmongering; to remind me that even in the middle of all the fighting, there is still hope.
The figure is DAZ's Victoria, the clothing and bird are also from DAZ. The architectural models are from Art Recon Inc. The sword and vambraces I modeled myself. (In fact, those are the vambraces I used for the UV Mapper tutorial.) Rendered in Lightwave 7.5, and retouched (pretty heavily) in Photoshop 7. I did all my own textures.
Lightwave is a joy to work with! It's what I used to model the sword, too, and I've never modeled anything so complex so easily.
